Must Safety Inspector's controller kill their own unit if Star-Crossed removes all other units?

Recruit is in my base and Vex is in my opponent's base. I play Safety Inspector. Both players must kill a unit. My opponent responds with Star-Crossed to return Vex and Recruit to hand.

Must I then kill my Safety Inspector?
