Can Janna react to Temporary before hold scoring at 7 points?

My opponent used Temporary sprites to conquer and reach 7 points. At the beginning of their turn they wanted to react to the sprites dying with Janna, saying that counted as a hold and won them the game. Temporary dies before Holding — is it possible to play Janna in reaction and hold that way?

Temporary dies before Holding, and also before Drawing. If they can play a unit in reaction to the Temporary trigger during the beginning phase, that unit can indeed hold the battlefield for them. You are not skipping the Draw phase — you simply have not reached it yet. Temporary happens at the start of the Beginning phase and Holding happens at the end of it.
