If a spell chooses the same Deflect unit twice, do I pay Deflect twice?

Source: Riftbound Spiritforged FAQ My opponent casts a spell that can choose the same unit more than once. That unit has Deflect. Is the Deflect cost paid once for the spell, or once for each time the unit is chosen?
