Can Strike Down use a stunned unit's Might to deal damage?

My opponent attacked with Laurent Disciple, I stunned it, and it returned to base without conquering. Later they wanted to cast Strike Down using that same Laurent's Might, but stunned units cannot attack. Does Strike Down deal damage from the spell or from the chosen unit's attack? Can Strike Down use a stunned unit's Might to deal damage?
