Can a charmed unit start a showdown in the opponent's base?

No. A unit you do not control cannot be in your base, and showdowns cannot occur at a base. Units are at a battlefield or their controller's base. If Teemo deals lethal damage (equal to or greater than the unit's Might), that unit dies immediately and is not considered for combat damage.
