Does Forbidding Waste's -2 Might end when a second defender arrives?

I have one unit defending at Forbidding Waste and am attacked. I reveal a hidden unit there as my second defender. Does the original defender keep the -2 Might from Forbidding Waste, or does the penalty end once the second unit arrives?
