Does ambushing with Rengar end Forbidding Waste's -2 Might while defending alone?

I am defending alone at Forbidding Waste and my opponent moves in, but I react by ambushing Rengar, Trophy Hunter to that battlefield. Does that negate the battlefield's -2 Might effect?

Yes. Forbidding Waste's -2 is a passive ability that is continuously checked. Once you play Rengar, you are no longer defending alone and the unit instantly loses the -2.
