My opponent had a 1 Might Treasure Hunter defending alone at Forbidding Waste with a hidden card. I sent a 3 Might Sprite to fight it and they responded with Switcheroo. When does Forbidding Waste's 2 apply versus Switcheroo — and after Switcheroo resolves, does the defender's new Might still include the 2 penalty?

Forbidding Waste is a passive effect that always applies once defender status is assigned — it does not go on the chain. When Switcheroo calculates the swap, the Treasure Hunter's Might is treated as 1 base minus 2 from Forbidding Waste, or 1. The swap magnitude is 4, so after Switcheroo the Treasure Hunter ends up at 3 Might (1 2 + 4) and your Sprite becomes 1 Might (3 4).
