Is Jhin's optional banish on his 4th spell mandatory?

If I play my 4th spell with Jhin, do I have to channel 4 and draw 1, or can I choose not to banish that spell and save the effect for a later spell?

You can choose not to banish your 4th spell. The entire trigger is optional because of "you may."
