Does paying a kill cost trigger Immortal Phoenix and can it revive itself?

If I pay a cost that kills Immortal Phoenix, such as a sacrifice-style kill cost, does that satisfy Phoenix's death trigger? If so, can Phoenix revive the same copy that just died?
