I currently control a battlefield with a unit there. I play a charm to move my opponents Teemo Strategist over to the battlefield where my unit is. Would I technically be defending if I already had control of the battlefield?

I currently control a battlefield with a unit there. I play a charm to move my opponents Teemo Strategist over to the battlefield where my unit is. Would I technically be defending if I already had control of the battlefield? Wondering for Teemos ability as he gets it when he defends. How does this interaction resolve?
