Who gets recalled if Vex stuns an Ambush unit in an open attack?

I move Vex, Apathetic into an open battlefield and my opponent Ambushes a unit there. Vex stuns it so it deals no damage. If it survives, who gets pushed back — attackers or defenders?

Attackers get pushed back. If you moved Vex into an open battlefield and the opponent Ambushed, Vex is the attacker and would be recalled when they conquer.
