Can Viktor's legend token be played to a battlefield I control?

Viktor, Leader creates a legend token effect when his condition is met. Can that token be played directly to a battlefield I already control, or does it have to go somewhere else first?

Yes. If Viktor's effect allows that placement and normal legality is satisfied, the token can be played directly to a battlefield you control.
